Day 1 & 2: Arrive Auckland / Bay of Islands
Arrive in Auckland. Travel up to the Bay of Islands to get right into the swing of things and relax after a long flight. The Bay of Islands is made up of nearly 150 islands as is the perfect place to hit the water on the kayaks for the first time!
Day 3 & 4: Kaitaia - The Far North
Heading up to the northern most point of New Zealand! This area is steeped in Maori history and is a great place to try your hand at surfing, or even sand dune riding along 90 mile beach!
Day 5: Auckland
Explore the "City of Sails" for an afternoon. New Zealand's largest city was recently home to the America's Cup and still has a very vibrant atmosphere.
Day 6 & 7: Coromandel Peninsula
A rugged, densly forrested peninsula where rivers force their way through gorges and pour down steep cliffs into the sea. Explore this area by foot, kayak or mountain bike. Even take a bath in your very own hole in the sand at hot water beach!
Day 8: Rotorua
The geothermal capital of New Zealand, with bubbling mud pools, gurgling hot springs and gushing geysers. Also the Maori cultural captial of New Zealand, learn about their history and people.
Day 9 & 10: Tongariro National Park
Tongariro is New Zealand's oldest National Park and is nothing short of stunning. The active volcanoes in the heart of the park were featured in Lord of the Rings.
Day 11: Wellington - Depart
Depart from Wellington - the most multi-cultural city in New Zealand, or don't leave and join the New Zealand Top-2-Bottom as it crosses over to the South Island!
